![]() You'll be much more effective as a media manager if you understand how Final Cut Express tracks media files and project data before you use the project management techniques described in this chapter. You'll also find tips on how to delete media files-and how to resurrect deleted files.įinal Cut Express is a nondestructive, nonlinear editing system, and that design has an impact on the way it handles file management. Longer, more complex projects sometimes require a little extra care and feeding, so you'll find project management strategies and techniques for building a project that contains multiple sequences. You'll also learn how to manipulate that organizational framework so that your projects, sequences, and clips stay sound and organized. You'll get an overview of Final Cut Express's organizing frameworks: projects, sequences, and clips. This chapter introduces Final Cut Express's system of organizing your video projects. To take advantage of that power, you must take control of the data. The real power of Final Cut Express lies in the way the media is controlled by the intelligence of the program's data structuring. Given this is would seem to be a PowerPoint issue and how it handles the Clipboard when pasting.Final Cut Express 4: Visual QuickStart GuideĪ Final Cut Express project is more than a collection of media files. We tried installing 2013 and didn't see the crash with VBoxTray running or not. We are still not sure exactly what on our client end is causing the AccessViolation, but given this information we are fairly convinced its a conflict with PowerPoint and some application with a clipboard listener doing something similar with the clipboard (probably not virtualbox). Waiting a little in-between those actions seems to let the external clipboard listener run. I think its a timing issue from when we write to the clipboard, the external vboxtray clipboard listener reads and updates the host clipboard and then us instructing PowerPoint to paste. We tried a few things and were able to circumvent the error with the "wait a little". If you stop VBoxTray.exe from running the error goes away. You also see the exceptions occur now in the Host machine as well. As soon as you do this we saw the AccessViolation crashes, probably similar to the other thread. When you install the virtualbox guest additions which enables clipboard sharing between guest and host an app called VBoxTray runs and installs a clipboard watcher. The host was a windows 8 machine.Įverything worked fine initially. We installed Office 2010 on windows 7 inside a virtualbox ( ) instance. We were able to recreate the issue here in one situation. This is with Office 2010 x32 on Windows 7 if that helps. Once we kill the left over instance we rerun PowerPoint then the crash occurs on the 2nd attempt again. ![]() Though there is a PowerPnt.exe hanging around after the crash. Once PowerPoint crashes it will then happen every time after restarting. ![]() Any ideas there? This is really the first we have seen this and our add-in is running on many other computers.įrom a clean reboot it seems the exception will occur on the 2nd attempt to run this code. It seems like we are getting the AccessVioloation on the view.Paste() call. 'bytes' holds some binary data that was originally copied from the clipboard.īuffer.BlockCopy(bytes, 0, bb, 0, bytes.Length) Ĭlipboard.SetData("Art::GVML ClipFormat", new MemoryStream(bb)) ĭw = _powerpoint.ActiveWindow // _powerpoint = "_Application" This part of the add-in writes some data to the clipboard and tries to execute a PowerPoint paste simulating a copy and paste procedure. Other times we get a message filter exception followed by a AccessViolationException. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.Īt .View.Paste() System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory.
